Facebook will be 50% of online retail by 2015

Check out these highlights from a Moontoast report called “The Social Commerce Opportunity.”

According to Gartner research, by 2015 companies will generate 50 percent of their web sales via their social presence and mobile applications. Adding social commerce to a brand’s online strategy boosts community 68 percent, in addition to growing revenues. That revenue growth will amount to $30 billion for social commerce in 2015, meaning that half of online commerce will come from social media.

“But look, it’s an American study!” I hear you shout. Sure, but I contend where America treads Australia closely follows. What do you think?
